A little while back, Arcade Fire released a mashup video for their track “Afterlife” off their brand new album REFLEKTOR. The band mixed their song with visuals from the 1959 film Black Orpheus, and the resulting atmosphere of the combo made the greatest song from the album all the more great. Now Arcade Fire have released the official video for the song, and they’ve replaced one atmosphere for a completely different one. Directed by Emily Kai Bock, the video opens with a man sporting a cowboy hat as he sells flowers. Soon enough he’s sitting with his two sons having dinner and one of his boys ditches their suburban home against his father’s wishes for a night of partying.
