Last week I started pre-production design work on the next installment of Vin Diesel’s Pitch Black / Chronicles Of Riddick sci-fi franchise, so I’ve found myself digging even deeper than usual into new music releases as I spend hours each and every day in my mental design bubble.  As for yesterday, all day long I was looping Neon Indian’s brand new highly addictive album Era Extraña over and over again, and will definitely be doing it again today (and likely for many days to come).  On our way into work yesterday morning, my friends Justine, Peter, and I were listening to the radio as someone was elaborating on their own personal mantra of “Follow your bliss,” and I definitely found mine in the brand new sounds of Neon Indian.  Track after track, he managed to take me on the most intoxicating day dreams, and more times than I can even remember I was sent spinning into my sun-drenched imagination and far away lands.  It’s easily one of the best albums I’ve heard in months, and you can pick up your own copy over at iTunes.   Below I’ve attached three of my favorite tracks (there are many more where that came from) off the album: “Hex Girlfriend”, “Heart – Decay”, and “Halogen (I Could Be A Shadow)”.  I can safely say the soundtrack to my life just got three songs bigger.  You can read Pitchfork’s glowing review of the album HERE.
