Perched atop a hillside bluff overlooking the beauty of Case Inlet in southern Puget Sound in the distance (65 miles southwest of Seattle) is this incredible award-winning cabin residence designed by the team at MW Works Architecture & Design. Coming in at a relatively modelst 2,800 sq.ft., the home sits within a gorgeous 20-acre property. The minimal design was part of the clients’ wish list, as they didn’t want their weekend home overloaded with any over-the-top ornamentation, frills, or materiality — “keep it simple” was their goal here. Natural lighting, energy efficiency, a passive ventilation system, and beautifully composed views make the cabin at-one with its natural surroundings. The home won the American Institute of Architects Merit Award for Washington Architecture in 2012 (read the article HERE), as well as the American Institute of Architects Pacific Region Citation Award in the same year (read the article HERE).
