If you travel a short 50 miles north of New York City you will find the small 11-acre island of Petra.  Situated in the middle of New York’s private Lake Mahopac, tiny Petra Island is remarkable for the fact that it’s home to two residences designed by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright.  The cottage was built in 1950, and the $19-million residence was built in 2008 from Wright’s original drawings — it is also considered to be one of the most extraordinary of Wright’s career.  Enjoy the pics below, as well as a video from Joseph Massaro, the current owner of the house.
