Continuing their terrific ongoing series entitled “Note To Self”, CBS This Morning asked renowned architect Frank Gehry to pen a message of wisdom to his younger self. Watch below as Gehry recollects his rough and tumble years as a kid growing up in Toronto, and the persistent threat he faced from bullies both big and small. Small in the form of schoolyard boys who picked on him for being the only Jewish kid in the Elementary School; and large in the form of a father and teachers who told him he just didn’t have what it took to be truly great. Gehry also mentions the importance of such works as Alice In Wonderland, and the influential impact the Art Gallery of Ontario, as well as Massey Hall, had on his imagination and love of art. This is now one of my favorites in CBS’s “Note To Self” series, right alongside Oprah’s message to her younger self, which she entitled “Dear Beautiful Brown-Skinned Girl”.
