The “Toda House” designed by Kimihiko Okada has to be one of the most striking examples of contemporary residential architecture I have seen in quite some time.  Situated in Hiroshima, Japan, the Toda House was designed by Okada for a local family, and one glance at the following photos reveals what must be an incredibly dynamic environment to raise one’s children and build an extraordinary life.  Try and imagine for a moment what living in a home like this would do for the imagination of a young child!  Pure amazingness.  Apart from the forward thinking nature of the design, the home puts me in mind of a seamless genetic hybrid between a mobius strip and the most important residential design in the history of modern architecture — Le Corbusier’s 1928 design of La Ville Savoie in the outskirts of Paris.  For more information on the designer be sure to visit his website at OOKD.jp.  For more photographs, including the interior shots, simply head over to Fubiz.
