Fred Mafra is a Brazilian architect who originally designed the Josefine/Roxy Nightclub in Belo Horizonte back in 2007, and has now completely a beautiful top-to-bottom redesign of the space. Mixing a highly asymmetrical design with LED light strips provides the visitors with ever-changing shifts in perception. The bar measures 955-square-meters, has two dance floors, three bars, as well as four VIP sections with retractable dividers that can open to create one huge VIP space when needed. The smoking section has a retractable roof, and the entire space is accessible to any visitors that may have special needs. Those trapezoidal divider bays you see also have a very interesting hidden function — they are lined with double layers of drywall and a specially designed acoustic system that absorbs noise and brings down the reverberation and echoes so that bartenders can hear the customers’ orders better.
