Bethan Laura Wood is the British designer behind this terrific “Totem” lighting collection. Each piece is made of hand-blown Pyrex glass and are explorations of Wood’s interest in mixing different shapes, colors and textures.  Working with artisan Pietro Viero, the creations are also an abstraction of the various objects and volumes used in the medical and chemistry industries, and the connected volumes maximize the thinness of the Pyrex glass and its unique qualities of light refraction via the crown-mirrored bulbs.  Wood also created a series of “Moon Rock” tables which are nowhere near as exciting as the lighting designs, both of which were developed exclusively for Milan’s Nilafur Gallery.  To see more images be sure to visit Design Boom (all photos courtesy of Design Boom).
