In an interesting blend of functional art and weaponry, Estonian artist Mati Karmin transforms the discarded cases of Russian mines into varying kinds of furniture, such as fireplaces, lamp holders, chairs, and even toilets.  The mines come from Naissaar Island, situated in the Gulf of Finland, which was heavily militarized by the Russian empire until the early 1990s.
