Delta-8 THC is the craze these days. You get to enjoy the high, to a lesser extent than the traditional Delta-9 THC, marijuana. It is derived from hemp-cannabis plants with less than 0.3 percent THC, so you are not violating any federal laws. Dosing on 2-25 mg, 50 mg, D-8 THCC gummies, will send your head and body buzzing in 30 minutes or so. It gives an energizing experience, keeps you focused, motivated, happy, and productive. Works best for people with low tolerance. Raising the dose a bit to 100 mg will send you back to the head and body buzz of a 50 mg. Are you expecting something extraordinary?  I’m sorry to disappoint, the experience was the same as the 50 D-8, except that the effect was longer.

What is Delta-8 THC?

Delta-8 THC is a derivative of the hemp-cannabis plant and is one of the cannabinoids found in cannabis. Usually, it is produced in small quantities, but there are times when the plant naturally yields a higher content. The Delta-8 THC from your local marijuana shop most often comes from hemp-derived CBD. But, scientists came up with a technique to convert CBD into Delta-8 THC or Delta-9 THC.

Consumers will get high with Delta-8 THC, but in a milder way than Delta-9 THC which is sold as marijuana.

Is Delta-8 Less Intense than THC?

From the Ministry of Hemp the effect varies from person to person.

Delta-8 users report the same feelings as THC or marijuana, while stoned they felt euphoria, happiness, inspiring mood, adrenalin rush, and release from pain, but in a less intense way. You’ll feel composed during high-stress situations.

Many users experience more of a body high with Delta-8 with less mental effects than THC. Most folks use it to reduce their anxiety and to soothe their pain while keeping their mind straight.

The craving for food is there. With THC you have the tendency to gobble up any food in sight, with Delta-8 the urge for food is still there, but it’s about the flavor to satisfy your taste buds. And still others don’t long for anything other than a snack.

Aftermaths may be the same as THC like red eyes, memory loss, dry mouth, and anxiety. Delta-8 compound needs more studies and research to determine the effects on the mind and body.

Delta-8 Dosing for Optimal Effects

CBD and Delta-8 have less than 0.3 percent THC content, the right amount for treating health conditions. But, it’s always best to ask for medical advice if you’re seeking the therapeutic benefits.

Although Delta-8 is one atom off less THC, you still get high, users are advised to start low and go slow as you gradually build your tolerance to it.

  • First-time users should stick to 5 mg to 15 mg per fix so as not to overdose.
  • The tolerance level of regular users is greater, a dosage of 15 mg to 45 mg will get you high.
  • Advanced users will require 45 mg to 150 mg per fix to reach the desired efficacy.

There are various ways to consume D-8 like smoking or vaping, edibles, and tinctures. This affects the time you experience a high and also the results of the effects.

E-liquid Juices

Vaping is the preferred method of ingesting D-8 and the most potent. Vape products vary in type such as liquid, cartridge, or disposable pen, but the effect is just the same.

A single toke is one dose for a beginner, two puffs for intermediates, and three puffs for advanced users. The effects depend on how deep you inhale and how long you hold the vapor.

Usually, the bottle from your local cannabis shop contains 15 mg of D-8 juice or about 100 puffs.

Herb Form

Many people still prefer the traditional way of smoking to enjoy the flavors of cannabinoid in its natural form. A single dose will take effect within 10 to 20 minutes, stick to the rule of one to three puffs.

Soft Gel Capsules

The dosage is reflected on the bottle some companies provide a dosage per capsule.

Tinctures or Oils

Users prefer this method because the effect can be felt quickly. Drops under the tongue will be digested by the bloodstream through the salivary glands. It comes with 1 ml. dropper to get your dose.

Edibles

Usually can businesses dose D-8 edibles at more than twice as much as THC. For instance, a 10 mg THC gummy will be offered as a 25 mg D-8 gummy, to get the full dose you have to consume half of the D-8 gummy.

It takes about one to two hours before the effect kicks in, don’t take another gummy during this period.

Medical Potential of Delta-8 THC

There are researches and clinical trials that reveal the distinctive features and medical potential of Delta-8 THC. However, the results cannot be used to come up with a definite conclusion on the efficacy of D-8.

Pain and Inflammation

A 2018 clinical trial in mice found that the antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects of

Delta-8 THC could be a novel clinical therapy for corneal pain and inflammation resulting from ocular surface injury.

Increase Food Consumption

A 2004 study investigated the effect of Delta-8 THC on food consumption, cognitive function, and neurotransmitters in mice. D-8 caused increased food intake and an inclination to develop cognitive function sans the side effects. Even low doses stimulated food intake.

Prevents Vomiting

Based on a 1995 study children aged 3-13 were administered with D-8 two hours before undergoing chemotherapy treatment and were applied every 6 hours for 24 hours after treatment. There was no vomiting from the patients and side effects were minor.

Tips for Safe Purchasing of Delta-8 THC

Not all cannabusinesses are alike, some sell Delta-8 THC products that are worth your money and others are in for the craze and looking to make a quick buck. Look for these red flags for a safe purchase.

Color

The product should be clear amber, champagne, or light pink which means that it’s perfectly clean. Stay away from any dark color because the formula is not properly oxidized or mixed with harmful compounds.

Testing

Tip the container, the D-8 solution should not flow at room temperature. It should be steady until you heat it. If it slides around there might be an unwanted agent in the solution.

Research

A bit of research before purchasing will give you valuable information in your selection. Check out client reviews any bad experience is divulged by an irate customer.
