We all know the importance of getting a good night’s sleep. It’s part of a healthy lifestyle and it gives your mind and body a chance to rest and recharge. However, getting a good night’s sleep can be easier said than done. There are lots of things you can do to help yourself sleep. Even your bedding and pyjamas can make a difference. So what should you be sleeping in?

Cotton

Let’s begin by starting with the classic cotton. It’s one of the most popular bedtime fabrics and for good reason. It’s a natural material, which makes it comfortable and is super soft on your skin. From lightweight women’s cotton pyjamas to breathable bedding, the material is great to sleep in. It can be used year-round. If you invest in quality cotton, it gets comfier the more you use it. Whereas cheaper cotton deteriorates quicker and takes some time to break in.

Silk

Silk is another popular option for bedding and nightwear. This fabric is great at regulating your temperature. It can help cool you down if you’re feeling too hot, and help warm you up if you’re feeling cold. Plus, it’s got such a soft and luxurious feel to it. However, there is a cost to that luxury. Silk is one of the more expensive options on this list. Some silk bedding or clothing may not be machine washable. Be sure to check washing instructions before making a purchase.

Bamboo

Bamboo is booming within the bedding world. What do you need to know about bamboo fabric? One of the main reasons why bamboo fabrics are becoming so popular is because they are eco-friendly. Bamboo grows incredibly quickly and items made from it are completely biodegradable. It’s not just its sustainability that makes it so appealing. It’s soft, clean, and breathable. Bamboo sheets can be more expensive than cotton, but some people are willing to pay this difference because bamboo is more eco-friendly.

Flannel

Finally, let’s talk about flannel. While the other fabrics on this list are suitable for all of the seasons, flannel is for the colder months. This thick material can help keep you warm during winter nights. Thanks to its breathability, you can stay at a comfortable temperature and not overheat. Flannel lends itself to wrapping up warm and getting cosy during the winter. It could save you money on heating bills, too. Flannel is easy to look after, but it is not as versatile as other materials.

There is an abundance of bedding options out there. Look out for soft, breathable, fabrics that you feel comfortable in. You’re bound to find the right material which works for your bedroom and budget. Do you have a favourite thing to sleep in?
