This house near Larvik, Norway hides a fascinating engineering secret that is almost completely invisible to the naked eye.  Take one look at this beautifully designed home and you might not realize it’s what’s known as a “plus house” — a home that uses zero energy, and actually creates more energy than it needs, able to sell its surplus to the grid.  The home was designed by the team at the Research Centre On Zero Emission Buildings, as well as design firm Snøhetta.  The stunning design was just nominated for a prestigious Mies van der Rohe Award.
