FEELguide’s #1 Movie Of The Year Is Spike Jonze’s Astonishingly Beautiful “HER”

Last night I had the immense pleasure of seeing a movie that rose to my expectations — and went on to exceed them.  Spike Jonze‘s masterpiece HER is a film I have been waiting for months to see, so judging from my endless stream of cinematic disappointments this year (i.e. the Coen Brothers’ pathetic Inside Llewyn Davis being the most notable let down of all), I was nervous my hopes would be crushed.  Thankfully, Jonze hit this one right out of the park, and then some.

HER raises some powerful questions about the nature of love and human connection; questions that are as profound as they are timely.  And as with all great works of cinema, our immersion in these 2-hour glimpses into other people’s lives provides us with a mirror in which to study the nature of our own reality.  There are moments in HER that were so poignant — and oftentimes uncomfortable — they brought me and others in the theatre to tears.

HER is not only FEELguide’s #1 Film of 2013, but on a personal note, it is also one of my favorite movies of all time. HER is currently playing in theatres across North America.
