When Musharaf “Mushy” Asghar first started school he could barely talk, he was badly bullied, and he had just a 34% attendance record.  His inability to speak might have been a limitation he experienced throughout his entire career as a student had it not been for the loving care of his teachers.  Watch in this video as Mushy finally builds up the courage to face his fear head-on in front of his entire class.  You will see Mushy make a moving speech thanking staff and his fellow pupils for helping him find his voice.  The teachers are crying, the kids are crying, and he gets a rightly deserved standing ovation.  It’s the most heartwarming and inspiring thing you’ll see all year.  The footage was featured in the Channel 4 documentary “Educating Yorkshire”, and now it is making waves around the world.
