San Francisco is already one of the world’s most extraordinary cities, but The City By The Bay is about to prove it’s even more amazing than we ever imagined. Miles is a 5-year-old sweetheart who is tragically suffering from leukemia. Like many kids his age, Miles is an enormous fan of superheroes, and his family says he has found huge inspiration in his favorite caped crusaders during his battle with cancer. But of all Miles’ most cherished superheroes, his ultimate favorite is Batman — and it’s precisely here where the story becomes truly astounding.
Miles’ greatest wish in life is be a real-life Batkid, so his parents, along with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, are about to make that wish come true by transforming the city of San Francisco into Gotham City for one day on November 15th. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of all people involved, this is exactly how the organizers are meticulously arranging that day to unfold: “The day will begin with a breaking news story. San Francisco’s Police Chief will ask if anyone knows the whereabouts of Batkid. The city needs his help to fight crime and capture villains! Our little Batkid, along with adult Batman, will be ready to answer the call! After rescuing a damsel-in-distress from the Hyde Street cable-car tracks in Nob Hill, then capturing the Riddler in the act of robbing a downtown vault, Batkid will enjoy lunch at the Burger Bar, near Union Square. After lunch, he will get a special message from the Police Chief and go to the window where he will look down and see a huge crowd of volunteers jumping up and down pleading for Batkid’s help. Why? The villainous Penguin has just kidnapped a famous San Francisco mascot (Lou Seal)! The Batmobile will be visible on Union Square, (a convertible offering a view of the crime in progress), and the chase will be on! After apprehending the Penguin, Batkid will make a final stop at City Hall where the Mayor of San Francisco, Ed Lee, along with the Police Chief, will congratulate him on his daring feats of justice and present him with a key to the city. We hope to have a huge crowd of volunteers and donors there to cheer him on and thank our Batkid!”
Everybody in the San Francisco area is invited to catch the action in one of these locations and cheer on Batkid as he fights crime and battles villains:
1. Look on as a flashmob warns Batkid that the Penguin has kidnapped Lou Seal and see them speed away from Union Square (approximately 12:45pm) – RSVP
2. Join in a massive celebration at City Hall at 2pm as SF Mayor, Ed Lee, and the Police Chief present Miles with a key to the city and congratulates him on a job well done (approximately 2:00pm) – RSVP

Friday, November 15th is Miles’ big day and it’s coming up fast, so if you are in the San Francisco area that day, please RSVP to make this special day even more amazing for this awesome little boy. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is one of the world’s most admired non-profit organizations. Make-A-Wish grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions “to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.” In order to qualify for a wish, the child must be between the ages of 2 and a half and 18 at the time of referral. It is the child’s physician that ultimately decides if a child is eligible. The organization grants wishes through its 62 chapters located throughout the country. Make-A-Wish also operates in 47 countries around the world through 36 affiliate offices. The President and CEO of Make-A-Wish America is David A. Williams.
