Margaret Atwood is on the tail end of her promotional tour for her new novel MADDADDAM, and she recently sat down with my hero Charlie Rose. In recent weeks and months I have fallen deeply in love with Atwood and her unique perception of our world, and I find myself devouring as much as I possibly can of her work and interviews. I recently shared two stories in particular which I found most fascinating — her relationship with new technology (i.e. especially Twitter), as well as an interview with Bill Moyers where she brilliantly connects a common thread between mythology, the Big Bang, and religion (you can watch these interviews below). In her conversation with Charlie Rose, she discusses many things including how she writes, her new friendship with Neil Gaiman, the special way in which Canadians speak (Charlie points out Quebec in particular), and their mutual admiration of Joyce Carol Oates.
