David Lynch is a notoriously private person.  So when New York Times Magazine recently profiled him for their feature story on his life’s work in transcendental meditation, they got much more than they bargained for when they spoke with Lych’s friend Bob Roth.

Lynch’s passion project at the moment is the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace (yes, a mightily impressive-sounding organization I must admit).  Lynch, who has been practicing transcendental meditation for 40 years now, reveals that he is indeed working on the story arc and screenplay for another film.  Lynch himself would never have admitted it had it not been for his friend Bob Roth who revealed:

“A few months later, I reached Lynch by phone at his hotel room in Paris.  Bob Roth had told me that Lynch said he was working on a new script and that it was typically dark.  When I asked Lynch about this, he paused, annoyed.  ‘Bobby’s got a big mouth,’ he said.  I asked him if the script was influenced by his work with T.M., and he said no, absolutely not.  This will be a David Lynch picture, he said, adding, ‘I think people would probably recognize it.'”

There are many things I’m looking forward to from the world of film in the years ahead, but a new movie from David Lynch would have to be right near the top of the list.  One of my favorite Lynchianisms comes in the form of a post-lecture Q&A recorded at Boston University from a few years’ back.  You can watch it below, and to read The New York Times Magazine’s full fascinating profile of David Lynch be sure to visit NYTimes.com.  To learn more about the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-based education you can check out DavidLynchFoundation.org.  And for all FEELguide stories related to David Lynch you can visit David Lynch on FEELguide
