This past summer I rediscovered my love of roses in a major way (read the red link below).  The streets of Montreal are teeming with wild rose bushes during the summer, and for some reason around July I became obsessed with the world’s most classic flower.  I couldn’t seem to walk past a rose bush without stopping for a few moments and taking them all in.  My mantra of “stop to smell the roses” took on a life of its own, and I had fantasized about an older version of myself where I would spend countless hours pruning and preening away in my very own private rose garden.  With any luck, someday this fantasy will come true, but in the mean time I’m stopping for 60 seconds to take in Sofia Coppola’s brand new ad for Miss Dior starring Natalie Portman and featuring Grace Jones’ cover of “La Vie En Rose”.  Almost as beautiful as a summer rose if you ask me.
