Charlie Rose is amazing in bed.  To be more specific, for the last few years I’ve been trying to time my sleep schedule as often as possible so that my head hits my pillow at 11:30pm, which is when the Charlie Rose show starts each and every night from Monday to Thursday.  I can’t think of a better way to wrap up my day than to wrap up myself in a duvet and let Charlie gently guide me across the bridge from the land of consciousness to the sea of dreams.  Anything can happen in that mysterious and infinite realm, so I like to think Charlie’s brilliant roundtable conversations — revolving around big questions and big ideas — have the power to expand my mind even as I sleep.  Two nights ago Charlie aired one episode in particular that went the extra mile in this regard, with his annual In Memoriam episode which paid tribute to a most extraordinary group of individuals who crossed their own bridges from this world into the next this past year.  Although their mortal lives are now complete, their contributions to each of their respective life’s work will live on forever.  This is a truly profound hour, and in my opinion is essential viewing for every human soul.
