There’s something about CBS Sunday Morning that pushes all the right buttons for me. And the same can be said for CBS This Morning and 60 Minutes as well. There’s no other news team that strikes a better balance in its coverage of the full scope of the human experience, and their journalists are pretty much the best in the business. But every now and then I catch Sunday Morning and find myself beyond impressed with their choices in what they feature each and every week. Take for instance this morning’s episode which devoted an entire 4-minute segment to a video vignette they edited together of a boat ride through Caddo Lake along the border dividing Texas and Louisiana. No voices, no opinion, no facts, no drama, no scandal. Just one beautiful moment of zen filled with stunning cyprus trees, gorgeous birds, and sounds that only dreams are made of.
