When I first moved to Montreal in October 2001 — a little more than a year after getting my Architecture degree — one of the first architectural firms I tried desperately to get a job at was Saucier + Perrotte. After months of what many would define as “stalking” I relented my quest to work for this ingenious company, and turned my attention to working as a designer in the motion picture industry here in Montreal. In my humble opinion Saucier + Perrotte is easily one of Canada’s top 5 architecture offices (you can visit their website at SaucierPerrotte.com). The concepts and narrative structures embedded in each and every one of their designs are so damn brilliant it’s enough to give even the most hardened of architecture critics a chill of excitement running up and down his/her spine. One of S+P’s latest creations is the phenomenal “Lac Superieur Residence” located in the beautiful Mont Tremblant region of the Laurentian Mountains just north of Montreal. I’ve profiled many residential designs here on FEELguide, with a strong focus on ones I would have no problem whatsoever in categorizing as my “dream home”, and this one most definitely ranks near the top.
