This morning on ABC News This Week, Christiane Amanpour sat down with former UN weapons inspector David Albright and Karim Sadjadpour of the Carnegie Endowment For International Peace.  Amanpour opens the interview by asking Albright for his thoughts on the UN’s announcement this weekend that Iran is closer than ever to developing a nuclear weapon.  Albright goes on to breakdown the complexities and technicalities of the UN’s warning, and he continues by giving one of the most intelligent status reports of Iran’s nuclear weapons program that I have ever heard.  The panel also discusses how a U.S. military response would have next to no effect, and could in fact make things much worse.  All in all, this 9-minute interview is loaded with important information that everyone should be aware of.  I’ve also attached a short interview with Colin Powell who also thinks that a military response should not only be the last option — we shouldn’t even be discussing it at all.
