I just finished watching this incredible documentary on the life of Bradley Manning, the U.S. soldier who was arrested in May 2010 for passing restricted information to the website Wikileaks.  So much attention has been focused on Wikileaks’ founder Julian Assange that he has sucked up almost all of the oxygen around the story.  Until now.  Manning’s life story, including his extreme fear of his father, the sense of community he found in the underground hacking world, and his relationship with his Boston boyfriend, provides the viewer with an unparalleled new understanding of how the “cablegate” scandal unfolded.  Julian Assange is only the tip of this iceberg.

Manning will soon face a court martial and faces up to 52 years in prison for one of the largest security breaches in U.S. history.
