My nephew Greg just sent me this video called “Minecart Interstate” which takes you on a 3-minute voyage along a perfectly straight high speed railroad, passing through a pixelated world created in Minecraft™, a sandbox-building video game (the game is focused on creativity and building, allowing players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D world). It was made by a guy named Brett (although his Twitter name is Crestopher) and it took him 2 months and 24 hours of work.  What struck me the most about the video is how hypnotic the fixed point perspective becomes when you watch it full screen at 1080p.  It also gives you a great sense of how incredible the view must be for a high speed rail conductor. You can follow Brett on Twitter and Tumblr.
