Philosopher Alain de Botton is a major favorite of mine here at FEELguide. Many of my favorite Alain de Botton insights come from his London-based organization known as The School of Life which is devoted to “developing emotional intelligence through the help of culture.” The School of Life adds, “We address such issues as how to find fulfilling work, how to master the art of relationships, how to understand one’s past, how to achieve calm and how better to understand, and where necessary change, the world.” In their latest video, de Botton narrates the three fundamental sources of self esteem. Designed and animated by Jesse Collett, you can watch it in full above, and enter the mothership at TheSchoolOfLife.com and visit AlainDeBotton.com. You can also watch Oprah Winfrey’s contribution to the ongoing CBS This Morning series, “Note To Self”, where she discusses the sources and evolution of her own self esteem.
