Located in an old 1928 building on Sunset Boulevard, GWEN is the second L.A. restaurant from Curtis Stone, the chef made famous by Top Chef Masters on Bravo. Coming in at an impressive 7,000 sq.ft, GWEN features a wine room, dining room, and a chef’s counter — as well as an in-house butcher. GWEN is at 6600 Sunset Boulevard, and if you take a 10-minute drive south you’ll find yourself in front of another impressive art deco masterpiece — the 11-storey Desmond Tower at 5514 Wilshire Boulevard. If you step inside the elevator lobby you will meet 75-year-old Ruben Pardo. Ruben is the last elevator operator in all of Los Angeles, and he operates the elevator 6 days a week.
