Inaugurated last night on September 11, 2016, the stunning Archipelago of OCNO was unveiled in Mantua, Italy — the designated 2016 Italian Cultural Capital. Designed by architect Joseph Grima, the network of 7 floating pads, in the waters just off the Giardini Marani, provided a platform for the Mantua Chamber Orchestra to play Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony at sunset under the direction of Umberto Benedetti Michelangeli. As the Gazetta di Mantova writes, “It was a real success.” To learn more about Joseph Grima visit his design firm at SpaceCaviar.net. (Photos courtesy of DOMUS and Gazetta di Mantova)
