In the opening of his 2012 TED Talk, WALL-E and Finding Nemo writer-director, Andrew Stanton, tells of a quotation that Mr. Rogers always used to carry with him in his wallet. “Frankly, there isn’t anyone you couldn’t learn to love once you’ve heard their story.” These are wise words for anyone to weigh, but perhaps especially for a storyteller. In his beautiful speech above, Stanton shares what he’s learned throughout his extraordinary career as a writer and filmmaker, which includes all three Toy Story films. I’ve also attached some of my favorite storytelling insights below.
