Stanley Kubrick‘s magnus opus, 2001: A Space Odyssey, forever changed the course of science fiction and cinema. Not only did the film’s groundbreaking visuals, foresight, and powerful story combine to become a major milestone in movie history — the film also inspired (and continues to inspire) some of the greatest filmmakers of subsequent generations. In a terrific 21-minute documentary entitled Standing on the Shoulders of Kubrick: The Legacy of 2001, released with the 2007 special edition BluRay of the film, it’s a must-see for any Kubrick fan, and you can watch it in full above.
