Entrepreneur Scott Dinsmore left life at a Fortune 500 company to help others do work that they love. After researching what thousands of employees truly wanted out of life, he founded the organization Live Your Legend. As the Chief Experimenter, he not only supplied practical career tools, he also connected more than 100,000 people worldwide to encourage each other’s dreams — putting community at the center of success.
Scott Dinsmore’s road to success wasn’t an easy one. He spent years working meaninglessly at soul-crushing jobs he hated, only to be one day inspired by a powerful quote he found by Warren Buffett. “There comes a time when you ought to start doing what you want. Take a job that you love,” said Buffett. “You will jump out of bed in the morning. I think you are out of your mind if you keep taking jobs that you don’t like because you think it will look good on your resume. Isn’t that a little like saving up sex for your old age?” That one quote changed everything for Scott, and in the years that followed he worked tirelessly to unlock the secrets of how to find work that was joyful and meaningful. Sadly, Dinsmore died in September 2015 while on a year-long trek around the world. He passed away after being hit by falling rocks while nearing the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. He was traveling with his wife, Chelsea, who is uninjured and has safely returned to the United States. Scott’s legacy will live on through his passion, dedication and strong community of dreamers and doers.
