The Creators Project recently launched their new franchise, ReForm, which will introduce us to the artists creating and re-appropriating the latest technologies in various areas of creative expression. In their latest instalment entitled Hollywood’s Digital Humans, we are given a full report on the very latest from the world of 3D scanning, motion capture, and digital rendering, and how this field is giving rise to the concept of the 3D actor. At the forefront of this technology is University of Southern California (USC) researcher Paul Debevec, one of the leading figures working hard to blur the line between human and hologram, man and machine.
