The most comprehensive international study of the penis has determined the most accurate average for the male sexual organ in medical history. 15,000 men from around the world (aged 17 to 91) were examined in total, and the resulting averages are as follows. Averages when erect: 5.16″ (13.12cm) in length and 4.5″ (11.66cm) in circumference. Averages when flaccid: 3.6″ (9.16cm) in length and 3.6″ (9.31cm) in circumference.

Although the study might appear to have superficial motives, it was actually initiated to help the small portion of the male population who suffer from a debilitating psychological condition called body dysmorphic disorder, in which an irrational insecurity about the length of their penis can result in chronically antisocial behavior, depression, and even suicide.

The study discovered that only 2.28% of the population has an abnormally small penis, as well as the fact that foot size has zero correlation to penis length. In somewhat related news, renowned urologist, Dr. Abraham Morgentaler, clinical professor of urology at Harvard Medical School, and founder of Men’s Health Boston, recently appeared on CBS This Morning to discuss his new book The Truth about Men and Sex: Intimate Secrets from the Doctor’s Office. In the interview he reveals the one biggest concern that he noticed thousands of his male patients had in common when it came to their performance in bed — and the answer might surprise you.
