You know that feeling you get when you return to the insanity of the city after a blissful zen-filled week or two at a peaceful cottage or lakeside nestled deep in the countryside?  It’s as if there’s a little voice inside your head telling you, “There is something wrong about this — turn the car around and get back to the countryside as soon as possible.”  Well, most of us don’t turn our cars around, and we reintegrate ourselves into the daily grind of noise, sirens, mass production, mass media, and our massively mind-numbing civilization.  Perhaps the next time you hear that little voice inside your head when you get back from the cottage you should watch this video montage commentary from renowned philosopher Alan Watts (1915-1973) above.  Entitled “What Is Wrong With Our Culture”, it sums things up quite well.  I’ve attached three more brilliant commentaries from Watts below as well.  (Photo courtesy of Alan Watts Daily on Twitter).
