Watch The Rapturously Beautiful Trailer For Australian Desert Epic “TRACKS” Starring Mia Wasikowska

Director John Curran‘s newest film TRACKS stars Mia Wasikowska in the true life story of Robyn Davidson, the woman who documented her 1700-mile, 8-month trek across the Australian desert in 1979.  The film version of the memoir has been a long time coming, with Julia Roberts having been attached to the project for much of the 1990s.  It wasn’t until producers of The Kings Speech came on board that the film finally began its journey to the silver screen.  According to reviews, Wasikowska gives a powerhouse performance as Davidson, who — shaken by tragedy and eager to escape civilization — heads to Alice Springs in the middle of Australia to pick up her 4 camels (Dookie, Bub, Zelly, and baby Goliath) which she will need to survive her epic walk to the west coast.  Along the way she is visited once a month by National Geographic photographer Rick Smolan (Adam Driver of GIRLS) who helps her document her journey.  TRACKS opens in North America on May 23, 2014.
