British indie rock trio THE WAVE PICTURES are out with their brand new record entitled City Forgiveness. The album oozes with a steamy sexual pulse at its core, and its DNA is rich with notes of the Rolling Stones, a band for which guitarist and vocalist David Tattersall wears his love on his sleeve.
In an interview with NOWNESS, Tattersall says: “I love The Rolling Stones, especially the early rhythm-and-blues stuff. When they did things like Jimmy Reed’s ‘Honest I Do’ or Rufus Thomas’s ‘Walking The Dog’ they were so good: you really hear what sensitive and sympathetic musicians the Stones are.”
Above is one of the album’s greatest tracks, “Like Smoke”, set to filmmaker Tabitha Denholm’s footage of Louisiana trailer riders at an R&B-inspired zydeco music party.
