If you haven’t yet discovered the music of Nils Frahm you are in for one hell of an amazing treat.  I first discovered his music when a friend forwarded me Nils’ album SCREWS, which Nils composed while recuperating from a broken thumb (read the full story, and listen to the album for free HERE).  It is absolutely brilliant from beginning to end, and I grew so attached to it last year, I was beginning to wonder if Nils would ever be able to top it.  Well, his latest album SPACES might have done just that.  I’ve been moderately obsessed with the album for the past month or so, beginning with the achingly beautiful track “Over There, It’s Raining”, and my standout favorite “Says”.  Not long ago, Nils released a minimalist black and white watercolor video to accompany “Says”, and you can watch it in full above.  The video was created by Romain Assénat & Ana Silva with the support of Atelier Graphoui, and was an improvisation with inks on glass and a video-feedback device, captured live without any post-production.  To pick up your own copy of SPACES simply visit iTunes.  And for all things Nils Frahm be sure to visit his bio page at his home labelErasedTapes.com and follow him on Facebook.
