World renowned American cellist Yo-Yo Ma took some time out of his busy schedule this morning to sit down with Charlie Rose, Norah O’Donnell, and Gayle King to discuss his life, his thoughts on creativity, and his brand new album entitled The Silk Road Ensemble With Yo-Yo Ma: A Playlist Without Borders.  Among the most interesting things I learned from the interview is the fact that when Yo-Yo was still a young child he performed for President Kennedy and President Eisenhower.  The performance marked the beginning of what has become one of the most impressive careers in music history.  You can watch the conversation in full below, and pick up your own copy of the master cellist’s new CD via iTunes.  For all things Yo-Yo Ma be sure to visit Yo-YoMa.com.  You can also check out the making-of video of the album, as well as his gorgeous performance of Bach’s Cello Suite #1, and his being honored by the Kennedy Center Honors.  Worth noting as you watch the CBS This Morning feature below is the fact that Yo-Yo Ma’s cello is more than 280 years old.
