My mentor Charlie Rose has been omnipresent here on FEELguide for years now (see Charlie Rose on FEELguide), but that may all be over thanks to the disastrous new redesign of the Charlie Rose website.  For some reason, those in charge of the redesign chose to use Hulu as their video streaming service which has resulted in a blackout for all Canadian viewers.

Last week I wrote to the show with my frustration: “I have been a longtime champion of the Charlie Rose show for years now, and I can’t help but take this as a huge slap in the face,” I wrote.  “Why would you design a website that denies access to your Canadian viewers who have been devoted to the show for so LONG???!”  I quickly received the following response from a department known as Charlie Rose Viewer Services: “We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with our website.  We appreciate your ongoing patience and continued loyalty to the program.  Thanks!”

I’m not certain how this qualifies as “technical difficulties” seeing as how I can’t imagine the Charlie Rose team fixing this anytime soon.  If I worked for Charlie Rose Viewer Services I would have worded my email differently: “We are currently experiencing a complete disregard for our devoted Canadian fans.  Please excuse us as we turn our backs on you and forget that you exist.  Thanks!”  Looks like the bloom is most definitely off this Rose.

UPDATE: THE CHARLIE ROSE WEBSITE HAS BEEN FIXED AND IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR STREAMING IN CANADA!  CONGRATS TO THE ENTIRE WEB TEAM AT CHARLIE ROSE ON A BEAUTIFUL REDESIGN!
