I just finished work as a set designer on X-Men: Days Of Future Past here in Montreal, and I have to admit — each time I crossed paths with Michael Fassbender in the office the only thing that ran through my mind was him in the movie SHAME.  In case you missed it, Fassbender’s own “bender” makes several impressive full-frontal appearances in the movie which tells the story of a man who simply cannot get enough sex.  Once you see it (the movie as well as Michael’s “bender”) you won’t be able to forget it, because SHAME is an unflinching look at the world of sex addiction and the devastating consequences it holds.

But there are countless ways to tell a story, so what would happen if the world of sex addiction was portrayed through the optics of a romantic comedy?  You no longer have to wonder what that would look like, because director ‘s film Thanks For Sharing is about to do just that. Starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Mark Ruffalo, as well as a hilarious Josh Gad and an impressive P!NK, the film tells the story of Phoebe (Paltrow) who falls in love with Adam (Ruffalo) without knowing of his addiction and the fact that he’s 5 years sober.

The very first trailer was released this week, and you can watch it in full below.  Thanks For Sharing is set for release in North America on September 20th.
