When NO FEAR OF POP posted their story last night on RUSH MIDNIGHT’s performance at New York’s CMJ Music Marathon, I was miraculously cured of my cold-from-hell for exactly 2 minutes and 53 seconds.  That’s the total running time of RUSH MIDNIGHT’s balls-out-amazing new track “Crush” which was produced by Twin Shadow.  The song is so damn good it almost causes me physical pain each time it comes to an end because I’m instantly thrown back into the coughing, sneezing, wheezing, mucus-filled reality of the bold hold of this nasty cold.  You can stream “Crush” below and read the full story by visiting NOFEAROFPOP.net, and to enter the world of RUSH MIDNIGHT simply head over to RUSHMIDNIGHT.com.  And I also came across this video of Christopher Owens (the former frontman of GIRLS) who performs songs from his upcoming solo album Lysandre in a bathtub at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, during Matador Records’ Matador at 21 Festival back in 2010.  Kind of ironic because a bathtub is exactly where I belong right now.  Lysandre is set for release in January 2013 and you can get all the details of the album, which Owens refers to as “a little bit like a musical”, in his brand new interview with The Guardian.
