The other day I was at the 50th Anniversary celebrations for Montreal’s Place Ville Marie Tower designed by renowned architect I.M. Pei, and I turned to my friend Martin and said, “I feel like I’m waiting for the building to blast off or something.”  The ceremony had all the makings of a NASA countdown.  Then I turned and looked at the building once again and thought how cool that would actually be.  Perhaps it was some sort of premonition, because yesterday while browsing through NOWNESS I came across a brilliant video for PRINCIPLES OF GEOMETRY‘s track “Springed Dodge” which brings my dream to life.  The video was directed by Julien Carot and produced by the team at Paris-based production house Animal Farm.  Apart from the all-around beauty of the video, one of the highlights is seeing the Earth slowly burning up as it gets closer and closer to the Sun.  Carot tells NOWNESS, “The film creates a parallel between a runaway society seeking salvation, and an astronaut looking for light, having grown estranged from his own world and seeking a state of grace.”  You can read the full NOWNESS profile by visiting NOWNESS.com.  To enter the world of PRINCIPLES OF GEOMETRY you can follow them on Facebook and visit their site at PRINCIPLES-OF-GEOMETRY.com.
