In less than a year Werner Herzog has gone from deep inside the Chauvet Cave of France to bring us the story of the site’s ancient cave paintings in his doc Cave Of Forgotten Dreams.  Following that he took us inside a maximum security prison in Texas for an intense look at the lives of death row inmates for his doc On Death Row.  Then he hopped on a plane to a movie set where he filmed his role as the lead villain in Tom Cruise’s upcoming Christmas blockbuster Jack Reacher.  And yesterday it was announced that next month Herzog will be busy inside New York’s Paradise Theatre where he will direct THE KILLERS in a live concert performance — the eleventh concert in the American Express Unstaged™ series, which previously saw Arcade Fire team up with Terry Gilliam, Duran Duran with David Lynch, and John Legend with Spike Lee.  The concert will stream live on YouTube on September 18th at 7pm Eastern / 4pm Pacific.  “I think there’s gonna be an animal involved,” bassist Mark Stoermer told Rolling Stone, regarding Herzog’s plans. “He has ideas for someone crowd-surfing with a camera on [and] he’s gonna put cameras on Ronnie [Vannucci Jr] while he’s playing drums … He definitely wanted to make the best version of this live Amex performance of any director so far,” Stoermer said. “I’m sure it will be all done the right way.”  To stream the concert on the night of September 18th simply tune in by CLICKING HERE.  THE KILLERS’ fourth studio album, Battle Born, is due on September 17th.
