DIIV is the music side project of Beach Fossils, and two weeks ago the boys gave us our first look at their brand new video for the song “How Long Have You Known?” off their upcoming album Oshin.  It features lead singer Z. Cole Smith whipping up a pink power pill out of the most hilarious collection of random objects imaginable, adding up to the cheapest — yet most entertaining — production value I’ve seen in a music video in quite some time.  You can check it out below, but the real amazingness is the fact that DIIV just allowed free streaming of Oshin in its entirety earlier today.  This thing is so damn good I don’t even know where to begin.  I’ve long believed that the human body is equipped with “dancing cells” — just like the genetics inside your heart cells know how to make those magical heart cells flicker in unison to keep that ticker of yours going, I’m convinced there are dancing cells scattered throughout the human body that respond vigorously to balls-out amazing music such as this.  And mine were doing just that today as I listened to the brilliance of Oshin in my underwear over and over and over again.  I’m pretty sure I’ll be dreaming of this album tonight, and I’m also pretty sure my dancing cells will be letting out a kick or three as my dreams send me DIIVing deep into this beautiful Oshin all night long.  For all things DIIV be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter, and grab some of their music via their label CapturedTracks.com.  DIIV will be releasing Oshin via Captured Tracks on June 26th.  (NOTE: CLICK ON THE INDIVIDUAL TRACKS TO PRESS PLAY.  THE PLAY BUTTON ITSELF DOES NOT WORK.  IF ALL ELSE FAILS YOU CAN STREAM THE ALBUM AT Pitchfork AS WELL).
