Radiohead just kicked off their 2012 world tour in conjunction with the release of their upcoming album, and at a recent show in Miami the world’s most important rock band gave the audience a taste of two brand new B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. songs entitled “Cut A Hole” and “Identikit”. They each provide a great indication of what could very well be the album of the year. Seriously amazing stuff here, and you can listen to each of them below. In related news, Radiohead has lent a wealth of tunes to the upcoming award-winning documentary The Island President, which tells the story of President Mohamed Nasheed of the Maldives, the pro-democracy and Mother Nature-loving leader who successfully managed to bring down the brutal regime of Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. The Maldives are not only one of the world’s most beautiful regions, they’re also on the brink of catastrophe due to rising sea levels. This is one of those countries that someone in their 20s in 2012 may very well see go underwater within their lifetime. Unfortunately, as we learned earlier this month, Nasheed was removed from his power in a violent coup with his supporters tear gassed and beaten. The doc is being its gradual North American release in New York and San Francisco on March 28th, followed by Los Angeles on March 30th, and was directed by Jon Shenk (Lost Boys Of Sudan) and won the prestigious People’s Choice Award for Best Documentary at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival.
