I just discovered this beautiful piece of music while listening to TEMPO on CBC Radio 2.  (you can listen to TEMPO weekdays from 9am to 1pm EST by CLICKING HERE).  The music in question is Lars-Erik Larsson‘s (1908-1986) “Pastoral Suite” taken from the album Northern Landscapes: Pastoral Music Of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland and was performed by the CBC Radio Orchestra and the CBC Vancouver Orchestra, conducted by Mario Bernardi.  Although I could not track down an online version of the original performance, I did find this equally beautiful performance of Larsson’s Pastoral Suite courtesy of the Slovenian Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anton Nanut.  The painting you are about to see in the video below is an 1850 work by Swedish painter Nils Blommér (1816-1853) entitled “Meadow Elves”.  To purchase your own copy of CBC’s Northern Landscapes be sure to visit iTunes.  For all FEELguide posts related to TEMPO‘s selections of classical music CLICK HERE.
