It was released only one short week ago, but last Friday Warner Brothers announced that the trailer for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises had blown up the record books — a mere five days after its debut online.  The trailer has already become the most downloaded movie trailer of all time on iTunes Movie Trailers site.  Adding to this, it’s also become the most downloaded movie trailer on the iTunes Trailers iOS app for iPhone.  And as if that’s not enough, in the 24 hours since its release, The Dark Knight Rises trailer had been viewed more than 12,500,000 times, breaking the previous record set by Marvel’s The Avengers.  Like I’ve said before, there’s something about this trailer that makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck.  A combination of Hans Zimmer’s pounding score (you MUST turn this up as loud as possible), with the incredible timing of its subject matter which taps into the Occupy Wall Street movement as well as the possible collapse of the euro and its impending tsunami, and not to mention the brilliance of Nolan himself.  This will undoubtedly be the smash hit of the summer when it hits theaters on July 20, 2012.
