PURE X is easily the most impressive band I’ve discovered in 2011.  If you haven’t yet heard their phenomenal album Pleasure (released on July 5, 2011) then you are in for one hell of a treat.  I can’t say enough about this Texas band, so instead of me rambling on about them for 40 paragraphs, you’d be better off grabbing your own copy on iTunes.  This morning, DUMMY just posted a terrific piece on a PURE X mixtape they just discovered which was compiled by the band’s drummer Austin Youngblood (my newest favorite name in the whole world by the way).  Youngblood is a diehard lover of cassette tapes, and he actually created the mix using two ancient cassette decks he had kickin’ around.  As DUMMY writes, the mix has a “perfect tempo to temper the annual festive implosion …and it’s got Lionel Richie, Jean Michael Jarre and Enya on it. What more do you want? “ You are free to listen to it below, as well as download your own copy by clicking on the arrow button on the right-hand side of the Souncloud window.  For everything you need to know about PURE X you can check out this story I wrote about their incredible new album Pleasure by CLICKING HERE, and be sure to watch out their gorgeous brand new video for “Surface” by CLICKING HERE.
