Los Angeles-based beatmaker and visual artist extraordinaire, Teebs (a.k.a. Mtendere Mandowa), just released his latest album two week ago entitled Collections 01.  Yesterday, indie label Ghostly International posted a link to one of the songs off the album, “Verbena Tea With Rebekah Raff”, and it’s a truly beautiful thing featuring the lovely harp-playing of Rebekah Raff, its crackling hip hop aggregate, and its overall dreamy, oriental atmosphere.  Pitchfork recently reviewed the entire album and had this to say: “On this record, dulcet keyboards paint silky melodies like brushstrokes, the drearily rustling beats are sewn into the fabric rather than tacked on, and tracks have real beginnings and endings rather than just floating by. Texturally, it’s some of Mandowa’s most gripping material yet, like the simultaneously slamming yet impossibly airy ‘Pretty Polly’ or the queasily determined sub-basslines on closing duo ‘Red Curbs Loop’ and ‘Yellow More New.'”  You can read the entire review by visiting Pitchfork, and to pick up your own copy of Teebs’ Collections 01 simply head over to iTunes.  You can follow Teebs on MySpaceFacebookTwitter, and Last.fm.  Enjoy the following track “Verbena Tea With Rebeka Raff” and check out the 2nd video below as well featuring a mini pocket documentary of Teebs’ and his artistic style.
