A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle is one of the most beautiful and inspiring books I have read in recent years, and every now and then I like to revisit it to remind myself why this man is so important to our world right now. Few people have been able to harness such a clear understanding of the essence of spirituality and its mutual exclusivity from the dogma of the world’s organized religions which have contaminated its true essence and power. Like Eckhart, I believe Jesus had an incredibly powerful message that heaven is not a patch of real estate in the sky — it is enlightenment. And it is a state of being that we should each strive for as we move through our lives — in other words, enlightenment is heaven on earth — not a glass condo in the sky. Unfortunately over several centuries this message has been suffocated and completely eroded by power, greed, and ego. We live in an insane world, but in Tolle’s view we are thankfully becoming increasingly more sane each and every day. I encourage you to listen to this small excerpt from this stunning book and if you haven’t already read it I would highly recommend you run to your nearest bookstore as soon as possible and pick up your very own copy.
