Expensive Looks recently released a remix of Crayon Fields singer Geoffrey O’Connor‘s “Whatever Leads Me To You” and I have to thank him for leading me to O’Connor’s music.  The remix is terrific and you can take a listen to it below, but this is the first time I’ve heard of O’Connor and I’m in full agreement with Altered Zones’ profile of the beautiful original track and the peppier remix:

“[The original] is full of mellow bedroom whispers and has a sultry dreaminess not unlike Chris Isaak’s infinitely sexy”Wicked Games.” Expensive Looks’ remix brightens the mournful mood of the original, replacing the plaintive, heartfelt cellos with dancefloor-friendly, bombastic synths.”

I’m still loving Expensive Looks’ remix which he put together for DUMMY recently (you can get it in the link below), so this is just pure gravy at this point.  I also checked out Geoffrey’s MySpace page and I got a kick out of his genre description: “Glam / Healing & EasyListening / Lounge”.  So if you’re in for some glam healing of your own you can follow Geoffrey O’Connor on MySpace, Twitter, Bandcamp, and Facebook, as well as his website GeoffreyOconnor.tv. Geoffrey’s new album Vanity is Forever is being released in September.
